The Everything Drawer - Everyone has one, right? (post anything - within the rules)

The azaleas peaked just before the weekend. Everything lush and new spring green here. Putting in my spring and summer color plants in containers and in trellises in front this week. Tomatoes went into big containers this weekend. The crepe myrtles are leafing out. Ground cover flowering. Bees cruising around. Hostas reappearing. Dogwood in full bloom.

I have never had great luck with Azaleas. I once lived in a dorm with the Azalea Trail outside my window in Mobile where the tour busses used to come by all day during season. I must have some sort of Azalea curse. But I did get to escort Miss Connecticut Junior Miss (same state) on stage in my ROTC uniform that year and saw James Brown live and met Ben E. King (A Rose In Spanish Harlem) when he was playing small college venues and weekends studying at Dauphin Island so regardless of the GPA at the end of the year it was a great year. It was just like Animal House, and I lived it and to this day I identify with the movie. And my Mother thought the year was wasted, little did she know. I did get to transfer some credits not many but some.

I am sure the candles - an authentic touch - are LED, to avoid fire hazard.

And, why not some gimbals, to get the true at-sea effect?

DBIL, former carrier XO, thinks some decorative binnacles and a set of Big Eyes would add depth and utility to the décor.
It's an odd photo. I stole it from a diiisssssstant cousin's FB page.

As a direct descendant of the Greatest Generation and a participant in one of those engagements that came to my turn down the road. When politicians start dictating the rules of where we engage who we can engage and how we engage and with what weapons we may use to engage. We lose.

I will start by saying I do not live in a mansion and DS said he was bringing home a few guys for break. Well DS pretty much brought home half the company last night. Such great guys I cannot even imagine having this many people in the house if they were not so polite and considerate. Their parents did an amazing job. I’m happy to have them here and so proud of all of them. Very happy to be a very small part of them getting a well needed break before heading off to summer training. I also cannot believe another year has passed and he is going to be a First class.

Do we need to start a GoFundMe to replenish your pantry and reefer?
