FROM A FRIEND'S POST AFTER THE GRADUATION CEREMONY YESTERDAY:
I have always said never take "No" for an answer...there is always a way to get what you want. As is the tradition, the newly commissioned officers at the Naval Academy throw their covers (hats) in the air at the end of the ceremony. The children attending as spectators run onto the field to catch the thrown covers as they come down for keepsakes. Sometimes there is a note, sometimes (most of the time) there is some money. It is a memento that most will never forget. Today was the graduation of the Class of 2015. Here is a note inside one of the covers "caught" by a child ....it is from a kid who never gave up. I love his story. Enjoy!
