My flight leaves at 7:20 in the morning. I’m so excited I can’t stand it. Haven’t seen my son since he drove back first of June to prepare for his roll of Cadre for BCT. Looking forward to seeing everyone have a great time. Stay safe and bring home the win Saturday. Also, the flyover for game is 4 USAFA grads in their F16’s. Hope everyone has a terrific time with their cadets and their friends.

Go air force hope the parents weekend goes well

Yeah so pumped for this weekend! We haven't seen our son since I Day as well. Gonna be nice meeting all the faces in DS flight that we became familiar with through WebGuy, It's like I know them already!

Big shout out to all parents, but especially 2024 and 2025 first time PW parents!!!! My DD is so excited to show us the Cadet area and dorm, she said she wants to show us her room AND her old room! haha! I'm actually really excited to work a shift at the parent club table and sell sell sell!

Travel safe everyone and have a great time! Go Falcons!

What an awesome weekend! It was the first time I was seeing and hugging my Doolie after 10 LONG weeks! He looks great! Met friends and other squadron families who are very near and dear to my cadet’s heart. Saw some fun they make together- Banner 28 Bring Me Moms- Lol. Got a great personal tour of the campus and dorm room. Also had the pleasure of meeting his sponsor family who we did not know prior to the process. The “Dad” is a professor at USAFA. “Mom” works in INTEL. Dropping my one and only off around noon today. Goodbyes suck. Florida seems so far. My DS is so happy here. I am so proud and thrilled for him.

Got home today at 1am off of the plane. To say we had a great time was an understatement. We took my sons nanny and poppy out with us this time. It’s the first time they have set foot on campus. Although the entire trip was nonstop they stayed right with us to do everything. My son is a junior, loves his new squadron and is thriving out there. He has really come out of his shell too. Met many friends of his but the best was meeting a doolie that was telling us stories of my son working BCT. The doolies stories were fantastic. They made me laugh and they made me solidly how much he cares for the people he is with. Now I need a vacation from the vacation. Also, the flyover for the parade were F15’s and they flyover for the game Saturday were F16’s, my son and I were ecstatic to see those fly so close to us !!

That sounds great-- Our parents weekend was similar as it was great to see our son who is a C1C. He has grown into a young man everyone can be proud of-- as is yours-- it is great to see our children grow up and make long life friends at the academy. Enjoy next year also as it will be yall's last parents weekend as this year was ours. Great to hear--

Would I be a really bad parent if I said I had the most fun working the parents club table? I had the greatest time sitting with fellow parents, relaxing with a Starbucks coffee, and selling club merchandise. It was great to see @richard_miao again and meet his lovely wife at their club table!!!! And it was fun to see other parents as they came though Arnold Hall! I could not figure out the buses. One of the senior parents all of a sudden stood up and yelled, HCopter and (other C3C newbie PW parent), let's go! I still hadn't made it around the room to all the tables for my freebies yet (using my "USAA Proud Parent of a USAFA Cadet!" free bag).

The Parade and pre-Parade demonstrations were awesome! This was our first time seeing DD live in action! She texted approximately where she would be and would have a colored shoulder cord. I came down from the stands, assumed the ready position, and was one of the first across Stillman Field! That was also totally fun and weeeeee I didn't care if anyone laughed at me!

We told DD to show us what was interesting to her. DD showed us her room, old room, and some of the buildings, then ate hamburgers cooked by her squadron. It was a lot of walking and I was secretly glad DD had to leave us twice to go to a meeting and then a class. I was seriously eying the spots in the library where Cadets aren't suppose to sleep. We also enjoyed sitting in the air gardens.

There is still so much to look forward to at future PWs - we didn't eat at Mitch's, visit the academic major, and surprisingly, I didn't get much chance to shop!

On Parents Weekend, I was in Colorado Springs with the Commemorative Air Force's Air Power History Tour as a crew member on the B-29 FIFI.

We flew over the Academy Sat, Sun and Mon. None of the crew knew that the chapel was undergoing restoration, so the first question was, "What's that big white square building?"

I met a variety of USAFA cadets in various locations. I particularly enjoyed seeing the doollies in their new dress blues. I asked each one of them that I met, "Do you like it so far?" Every one of them flashed a big smile and answered, "Yes, sir!"

I was sitting in Freddies in front of our hotel with my Air Force Veteran hat on and a young doolie approached me and asked to sit. She was curious about my Air Force experience. Her goal is JAG officer. I asked her why she liked the Academy. "It's a good challenge," she replied.

Every parent has good reason to be proud of their cadet.
