Thanks! That is good to know!Congrats to your son!!
It is possible that you got one from corker and that's why Alexander didn't double nominate. I know someone who got an MOC nom and senator nom. I'm not sure.It was Corker's office that said they wouldn't have anything out until next week, of course, now that we know that TN won't dually nominate it is a moot point for us. I wish you luck!!
I believe most if not all applicants will have bright futures. I'm sure, as one I the interviewers told me, that thee are a few 'dud' candidates that just apply for the sake of applying.Well... as long as she has 1 nomination she has a ticket to the dance...
And thinking about it, if every kid did what they were supposed to do and applied for all 3 (rep plus 2 senators) then I'd say its a level playing field.... it could be said that the Senators pick up the 20 kids that were left over and did not get a nom from their rep... after all, they tend to make their choices as late as possible.... those bucket of money theories can go both ways.
I do, however, get your point and in a highly competitive district I understand the urgency. Perhaps this is how they balance out those highly competitive districts so that qualified kids that could not fit on a Rep slate still have a chance.
I believe every kid that is going through this process is well above a $5- And I'm not convinced that the gap between the candidates is that vast. They are all leaders who are meeting incredibly difficult standards to get in.... and the nominating sources, nor the quantity will have anything to do with how successful an appointee will be once they are in. As a country we are blessed that these young men and women want to serve.
At the end of the day our daughter has surpassed by a hundred fold what we ever did at her age; shes done all she can do and has put it in God's hands... she will land where she is meant to be.
