Last year I applied to USAFA and April 4th I received my non-select letter on my portal page. Like many others I was devastated and decided to pursue AFROTC and a university. I also decided to apply again. I figured it won't hurt and at least I can get closure. I kept telling myself that because I was afraid to get another rejection letter.
Today I received my appointment to USAFA Prep School. Getting to share that news with all my loved ones made the almost two year wait not so bad! Please, if you did or do receive a non-select letter know that it's not over. And if USAFA is truly where you want to be keep working for it. Don't give up.
If you do receive the non-select letter, it's not the end of the world. It may feel like it, but pick your head up and stand tall. You'll get where you need to go!
