My son is a recruited athlete to USAFA. He is 6' .5" feet and 192 pounds. He received a letter saying he needed to be remeasured and submit those findings. Fine, but he also got a VERY weird letter from USAFA saying he was medically disqualified, but it did not list any reason. Like none.

He did have surgery for osteochondritis dissecans, but the letter to him doesn't say anything about that, and we haven't received anything else.

Ideas?

The history of osteochondritis dessicans (or osteochondral defect) is the reason your DS was DQ’ed.

... so I've read your post and I don't understand it. Questions:
* "... received a letter... to be remeasured." Who sent the letter? Is there a letterhead? I suggest to complete the task.

** "... weird letter from USAFA... he was medically disqualified." Is there a POC/name, phone, email address? Call / Talk to them.

*** "... surgery for osteochondritis." Was this reported to DODMERB? If yes, then it was the source for disqualification.
