Hi! My DS decided to join Army ROTC after getting his AA degree at a community college. He got a two year scholarship and goes to Basic camp in July. His Business major is impacted and will have trouble graduating in the two years. His graduation will extend to 2.5. What happens with ROTC? Thanks!

Have him communicate with Cadre and the school to determine if ROTC cadets have 'priority' registration to ensure he is able to enroll in the impacted classes. When he completes the 104R with his advisor and Cadre make sure they note the classes that are 'impacted' if he doesn't have priority registration. Someone in the unit has dealt with 'impacted' majors before.... Assuming a California state school.

DS is an MS2 in a STEM major at a school notorious for impacted programs. Even with priority registration, his major’s demanding curriculum, plus the addition of MS classes, make it challenging to graduate in four years. And that’s with some summer school and priority registration. My understanding is that the Army will pay for four years flat, and that he’s on the hook for any extra time. For example, the Army is not paying for the two summer classes he’s now taking. (On the plus side, his major earns him a small but meaningful boost in OOM.)

To be sure, check directly with your chain of command. Things can differ and things can change.

Just had a meeting with his Cadre and he put in some calls. Hopefully he can help him. Yes, Sacramento State. Fall classes are already full and it’s only June.

Ok I’m relieved to know we shouldn’t expect him to finish he’s upper division in two years. He’s a transfer student, crammed all lower division courses in two years and now finds he’ll probably need three to finish. I looked at the schedule if he can actually get it and with MS courses it’s looking overwhelming.
