Ultimate CBT Packing List and Some Tips

Ours in NC had both a signature and a paper-embossed seal (which didn't scan very well, regardless of DPI settings). DS scanned and uploaded it -- we'll see if it is 'accepted'. If not, he can certainly mail and/or hand-carry.
Thank you. In CA not sure how it will be handled. will try doing the search online and go to the local police station and we all go from there.

The signature is if you take it in person. My DS reached out for clarification and they suggested the online search as another option.

We are in TX and ran it through the Texas Department of Public Safety, but I am not sure how other states work. The report came back as a pdf file that he uploaded into his portal. The next day it turned green.

Hope this helps!
This is sooo helpful! We've run into roadblocks left and right trying to get this form completed. Thanks so much!

Last year for my DS we just went to the County Records office, they requested we email the sheet, they filled it out and emailed it back. We are in Colorado. It was pretty easy. Go to your counties website and see if the they have a records request email, or even an online request form.

My daughter and I took the form we printed out from WP to our local police department in Elk Grove, California. Most of them don’t know what it is so you just have to explain to them what it for. We left the form there for them to fill out and sign. They call us a couple days later to pick it up. My daughter then uploaded it onto the portal.

Thank you for the information. I take it local police departments are not familiar with WP form. I will visit a local office and fingers crossed that they will be able to help.

If your local police station won't fill out the form/do fingerprinting, as an alternative you can go to the nearest Army Recruiting Office to have them fill out and complete it for you.

Oh! I wasn't aware that the Army Recruiting office is able to fill out the form. As a matter of fact I visited the Amy Recruiting Office for live scan finger printing. Duh! :) Thank you!!!

Hey, got a question on running shoes. There are running shoes for road and off-road; would purchasing the road version be the way to go or the something in between road and off-road? Thanks.

A military installation with live scan fingerprinting or Army Recruiting Office can do it.

Follow up question. Luggage - any recommendations which brand is best? Is the max size 55L or 60L? Thank you!

my DS took this:

and it was perfect size (yes, larger than the 40L) for all his stuff then, and uses it when he travels home (backpack straps are nice to have.) Do one bring a wheelie bag, make sure it can collapse down so you can stuff it in your issued bag when you do the bag transfer. Put all loose items in large ziploc bags to aid in transfer, and can be used later. At USMA it can rain a lot, class of 27 had historical levels of rain, so be prepared for that.

Great to know. I like the idea of taking a collapsible wheelie bag and of course the Ziploc bags. Thank you!

Regulation says carry-on size, which is closer to 40L to 45L. It appears they don't care too much about 50L to 60L. If you pack it to the brim, you may not have space in your issued bag though.

I'll keep that in mind. Thank you
