Has anyone who received an appointment this week (either by phone call or AEP invite email) seen an update in their Bears Den?

Son says his Bear’s Den hasn’t changed at all since he received his EA deferral letter in December.

Even though he’s submitted everything they required for another look during RD, his AO has said there aren’t realtime updates to the appearance of the Bear’s Den until a decision is rendered.

Thank you! I’m curious about the people who received appointments this week, either by hearing from their admissions counselor or an email inviting them to an AEP event, if their portal has been updated to reflect their appointment yet?

I'm wondering the same thing! I got an email congratulating me on my appointment to CGAS and then a correction email congratulating me on my appointment to USCGA as well as a phone call the same day. Both the email and the phone call said I should see a decision updated in my Bears den portal, but nothing's been updated since the correspondences on Friday.

My son got a full appointment on March 2nd - he was deferred from EA. Coach called him that Friday and AO followed up. Nothing was in his Bears Den for a few days - maybe 5 and then an acceptance letter where it said decision was available link (right above his AIM acceptance letter). Is he missing something else? He also got the AEP email. He has not received the appointment certificate yet either.

DS got the same notification (CGAS then corrected to appointment). Also spoke with AO afterwards to clarify what was going on with all that :) Nothing in Bear's Den. Is there some way you are supposed to officially accept the appointment?

Once Bear's Den updates, there will be a link to an appointment letter. In the appointment letter, there's a link to accept or decline. This is not an official accept or decline, but will trigger them to send the BWE with the appointment certificate and all the paperwork necessary to officially accept.

Just thinking out loud...I know it's typical for Friday to be the day when Bear's Den updates. Considering it seemed last Friday was they day many of you were getting correction emails regarding the communication snafu, I wonder if maybe you missed last Friday's window and it'll be THIS Friday before it updates.

This is what it will probably look like. The decision links are still live for 2027, but funny, it now shows as 2028. It just goes to show how sort of tied together and automated the systems in admissions are, which can be good or bad! I can easily see how mistakes can happen due to database management issues.

Thank you so much for this!

Not many days left
Thursday, Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and 4/1!
I know its not over until its over, but I really wish I had already received an appointment by now. At least I know by 4/1 its either Plan A or commit to Plan B.

We are hoping for the best April fools call on Monday! We are in the same boat, hoping to hear something for our DS, good, bad or ugly. We are trusting the process and trying to stay optimistic. Good luck to all the parents, DSs and DDs.

No update in BD for me. Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and April fools. Thursday is not over, ringer in max.

I did read in the application information packet that 100-125 applicants each year are offered a spot on the waitlist. I have very mixed feelings about my DS being offered that.

Is April 1st, the last day for appointments to come out? We are still waiting for an appointment.

Most years they pull at least some people from the waitlist. 4 years ago (CGA class of 2024), they didn't pull anyone.

Anyone CGA offers a waitlist spot to is considered a highly qualified applicant, and the waitlist is not numbered.
When pulling people from the waitlist, they will be pulling to fill in any gaps in the overall class based on who declined their appointments in order to get the most well-rounded class as a whole. If they need more of a certain major, they will look for those. If there are applicants on the waitlist from an under-represented state, they might pull them. If they feel they need more of a particular minority, they might pull base on that. If they need more for a certain sport, they will pull for that.
