So let me get this correct, If our DS/DD receive TWE, it's game over? Been waiting a long time for this....and being from a military family doesn't seem to help, we have moved several times during my teenager's high school years. I hope it won't affect one's chances for getting an appointment. This is a tough road. I can only imagine what it is like to be these young kids going through it.
Life after TWE...my observations from posts on this forum
TWE>>Falcon Scholarship>>Reapply>>Appointment next year (
almost guaranteed)
TWE>>Self Prep (as a new plan B)>>Reapply>>no guarantee of outcome (but success rate
seems high based on those sharing here)
TWE>>Plan B/C college/ROTC>>Reapply>>no guarantee of outcome (but the process can favor the college applicant with strong coursework)
TWE>>Plan B/C/D>>LOVE Plan B/C/D and don't even consider reapplying
So, is it game over? If the goal of your game is USAFA Class of 2022 and you received TWE, then yes, that door has closed and it's time to focus on a new goal.
If your goal is USAFA, then figure out the best way for you to improve your application with a year of college/college ROTC/or self prep and reapply.
If your goal is to commission, there are many paths forward that do not include USAFA. Figure out which one is for you. When one door closes, another opens.
And even though everyone wants to talk about the possibility of TWE to Appointment, that scenario is particularly rare. It's better to focus on your new path and put your energy there.
