I just got my naval academy rejection because I didn't turn in my updated resume stuff so I'd assume so

That, I'm not sure of, but given the history of the portal process, every time my DS had a message waiting, he was notified of it by email.

We received an email notifying DS to check portal for a rejection letter last year.

My DD also got an email to check her portal for the rejection letter on April 9 last year. It was late afternoon. I remember it well--we were waiting to pick her little sister up from school at 3:15 when it came through.
 
We were in your shoes 5 years ago. Now our 2016er will graduate in June. Out of high school he received the dreaded TWE when it was still a paper letter. However he was blessed to receive a Falcon scholarship shortly after the TWE. Then on to Northwestern Prep, an appointment, BCT, and the rest is a flash. Now he is looking forward to some time off and then off to Intel School at Goodfellow AFB. Its a wild ride.

That's fantastic! I hope my DD has the same luck although she is losing hope as a re-applicant. She took plan B and is studying Space Physics at Embry-Riddle this year.

I just have a feeling another large wave of appointments won't happen until next week. Aren't they are spring break right now at the academy? I know it might not really affect the admissions staff; however it is also Holy Week and with Easter coming, I'm thinking nothing new will happen until at least next week. Just my thoughts. I have no inside info - unfortunately!

That could be right, but I was thinking the other way. I know there is no way to determine how many are using the forum, but if we used a small estimate of 25%, that gives only 400 total appointments, leaving 600 or so available. Maybe I'm just being hopeful, but I would guess there's still at least 400 left.

Hey guys I just talked to my ALO today and she reported to me that at the moment the Air Force Academy is on spring break and that although admissions is still working we should not expect to here anything tell next week around April 1st. My guess is that last Wednesday all of the nomination slates where given out in a "tidal wave" fashion and those of us who are still waiting are in the national pool and as far as I know the national pool gives out roughly half the appointments. Again that is all my guess from the information I have gathered. Additionally as far as I know if you are still a "candidate" you are still considered.

By this information, I hope that there are still around half the appointments still open.
 
I certainly don't think the amount of appointments yet to be made will be nearly as big as March 16th, but from looking at past appointment threads, it does appear there are many appointments left to be made. My DS does not have a TWE, so there's still a chance. I agree wandszy that there is reason to be hopeful!
 
In my non-expert opinion, not nearly over - too early and too many factors involved. I have to admit the suspense is getting to us, as well. Just keep pressing forward and be prepared to head to CO in 3 months or execute Plan B before its deadline! #keepcalmandstayairforcestrong
 
And...embrace and make good use of your Spring Break because if you are one of the fortunate ones chosen, it will be your last break before you hit the ground running after graduation.

10 percent would leave remaining appointments at 100-200. It's just hard waiting for our DS and us parents too. Made even more difficult with limited info. It's not anyone's fault...just stressful. Very Glad He Has A Good full-ride backup in place.

When they say that, though, are they referring to the number of total appointments given out or the number of those accepted? It's hard to say if we should compare it to the 1100-1200 accepted cadets or the overall 1400 appointments given out. Either way - the waiting is so hard! Thank goodness I'm just a mom! I'm clearly not cut out for military life! Hee! Hee!;)
