USAFA Class of 2020 Appointment Thread

When they say that, though, are they referring to the number of total appointments given out or the number of those accepted? It's hard to say if we should compare it to the 1100-1200 accepted cadets or the overall 1400 appointments given out. Either way - the waiting is so hard! Thank goodness I'm just a mom! I'm clearly not cut out for military life! Hee! Hee!

I was just looking at our list of appointments which had a little over 100 names. That would mean 1000 appointments have been given out, leaving 200-400 appointments, regardless of acceptance.

It's been estimated in the past that this forum represents approx 10% of SA appointees each year.

I have seen that every year, but no one knows if it is an accurate number or not.

Advice to those waiting - If you have not been told that you will not receive an appointment (aka TWE), you are still 100% in the game. I know it is hard, but just hang in there! Burn off excess energy by running, pull-ups and sit-ups. Throw in some supermans as well from time to time. Prospective cadets, you should exercise too to prepare for basic, and try to assuage your parents' anxiety by being calm and assuring them you will all get through this.

FYI, my DD did not hear until mid April; We know of others that received appointment in May, and even one in June.

I think there are a lot of new parents that do not even know about this forum. My DS got an early appointment last year and I knew nothing about this until many months later. I now have a 2020 candidate anxiously waiting like many others of you. Our entire household is trying to be patient since his brother knew in October last year. Good luck to all!

That is too bad. This is such a wealth of information. I don't know how I would've done without being able to read all of the posts about the ALO interview, various threads about what BCT is, etc. It is such a great resource!

I just got my naval academy rejection because I didn't turn in my updated resume stuff so I'd assume so

DD was nom for NA, West Point and AFA, but only wanted AFA, she didn't finish her application for the other two and got the TWE early for both of those. Actually West Point wrote her asking her to finish and if she no longer interested to please let them know, she did.
