USAFA Prep School BMT (Even if you can only answer based on Doolie BMT, it would still be appreciated!)

I would like to know if you will have to run in the boots, if so, do you have to run in them everyday or is it just during Jacks valley,
(Like the short running in between obstacles in the obstacle courses)?

How many miles are ran everyday? I have no problem running 3 miles straight (I don’t know if my pace is fast enough, and I live at mid-sea level so I definitely don’t know the feels of high altitude, but I can run 3 miles straight at my normal pacing), but I just wanted to know because a lot of people have mentioned different numbers. I know everyday is probably not gonna be the same, but whats the most non-stop miles ran per day?

Are their obstacle courses before jacks valley? Or is the prior to jacks valley activity mainly just workouts (like pushups, pull ups, running etc.)?

How much does Prep BMT differ from Doolie BCT (besides it being shorter)?

I know that the main point of BMT/BCT is to train for conditions, so it is probably not wise to know what to expect, but I would just like to know a little bit of what I should expect so that I can ensure I am preparing correctly for types of conditions rather than just being physically fit and hoping that every element aligns with PFT standard physical fitness.

I have one DS went to USAFA Prep and one direct so I can tell you the following from both experiences:
* Not a lot of running in boots at The P.
* BMT at The P is run by upperclass from USAFA just like on The Hill but with more involvement from the MTI's than at USAFA. There will be a lot of scary people with big hats yelling instead of just cadets. Lots of Preppies and staff consider the BMT at The P to be harder than BCT at The Hill but maybe it's because the Preppies are doing it for the second time so it seems easier for them.
* The P doesn't go to Jack's at all and apart from the Leadership ropes course they do more regular PT and focus on getting ready for The Hill.
* BMT is straight military training with only basic "field" work like navigation where BCT is broken into two parts with BCT 1 in the squadron area and being more like the BMT at The P. BCT 2 is the Jack's Valley phase and is totally different to anything you will do at The P.
* Don't worry about the altitude as the staff is very aware of the conditions and you are gradually introduced to harder PT sessions as you acclimate. Drink a lot, when you think you've had enough you need to drink more. Again the staff are aware of this and are prepared and trained to look for signs and respond accordingly. Nothing you do in the couple of weeks before will make much difference to your adjustment unless you move to altitude and start to get used to it.
* As most people on here will tell you, I have never met a Preppie who regrets their time at The P or who would do it differently. My youngest is actually unhappy he didn't get to go to The P like his brother did as they form a very special bond. It will be the Preppies and Priors that will help the directs get through the first phase of BCT and the staff will look to them for leadership at the beginning.
Congrats on being appointed to The P and look out for the local bears :) Goodluck and make the most of your experience.

O thank you so much. I made this thread twice by accident thinking that this one did not go through. But thank you, your information helped me understand better :)
