Yes - the 61 and 62 designations are the senators. Luckily, California didn't pick up enough population to move up from their 53 districts so those designations should be safe for at least 10 more years.
 
Accentance threads from past years

Just curious...how filled in have the acceptance lists been in past years? We are looking right now at less than 100 with about 650 known offers out there...What has participation been like in the past? And how do people ever indicate if they accepted or declined?
 
Actually, that is not quite what I was asking...I was trying to gauge how many folks actually take the time to follow the thread and post their acceptances. Is there another list elsewhere that more participate in? I was thinking the Class of 2017 FAcebook page but that is controlled access for only accepted cadets.

I was also curious. There is an entire group of people currently in the procees of gaing an appointment. Approximately, how many of those folks are an active member of this forum. Is there a guestimate as to a percentage??
 
Search the USMA Threads and type in Class of 2016 appointment thread, you can find it there. What do you mean there is a group of people in the process of gaining an appointment? Where is this?

I am speaking of everyone who has applied, including their families. Not every applicant belongs to this forum. What percentage of applicants belong to this forum.
 
Interesting Question...

Not every knows about SAF, not everyone posts on SAF they just read. It is not needed to get an appointment and do very well without SAF. It has been my observation when someone post there name they have received an appointment it is a 10:1 ratio. For every name there are 9 or 10 we never know about who also received an appointment somewhere out there across the globe. Globe? Yeah about 10 to 12 from other countries are admitted.

I seem to recall a reply post from Pima some time ago regarding this topic. If I recollect correctly, the percentage is very small...

Service Academy Applicants and / or their families: Percentage that are monitoring these forums is probably well under 10%. So, if I use approximate numbers: For USMA, 2400 Qualified Candidates x .10 = 240 that are monitoring and possibly posting on this particular forum page.

I could be "all wet" too... and reserve the right to be corrected from those more knowledgeable (Forum Sages).

Been there, done that...

Weinerdog...I know this is very difficult. Been there, done that...feeling like a desperate Vegas gambler leaning over the Craps Table in hopes the odd will be in my favor. Watching every throw of the dice in hopes of my number to hit. This will drive you crazy and will cause you to spend all your resources in hopes of hanging in there a little bit longer.

Its been said to keep in play Plan B and C. Keep the momentum moving forward. Keep progressing, instead of pondering the idea to use your credit card to buy more throws of the dice.

Sorry if i missed this somewhere else, but at what point are the portals changing for those with acceptance letters? (early, later, same day as BFE arrival?)

I have to say thank you to all of the people that have posted on this website. I am grateful for all of the information, and I am so impressed by the caliber of people. There are so many qualified applicants - truly amazing. I am humbled to add my son to this list. He got the call on Friday, and I got to see him get the call - a moment I will never forget. I am one proud mom! Thanks again for all the information and good luck to those who are still waiting!

For us, the portal changed later on the same day that DS received his BFE, four days after the postmark date. We live in an outlying area and mail is slow. :rolleyes:

DS received call on Thursday night and received BFE on Monday. His portal changed on Tuesday. I believe that candidates that received appointments from the 2/22 mailing saw their portal change on 2/26 also a Tuesday.
 
Got my official appointment a week ago but an LOA back in October. :thumb:
