I know that at USNA, they have to have a certain percentage of their midshipmen major in STEM majors.

Is this also true at WP?

Not when I was there, and with the changes to curriculum, I don't expect it to. There will always be a high percentage in STEM majors, because those are some of the strongest departments academically and offer some great opportunities. After the Academy went to allowing cadets to choosing their own majors, and cadets began to be able to tailor their schedules versus the one size fit all that used to be a thing (Old Corps), I don't believe there is a mandate that would get you stuck in a STEM major if that's not what you want to do.

That is my understanding also. Cadets have chosen majors or concentrations for at least the past 35 - 40 years. I have never known of anyone denied a major of their choosing or being forced into a major they didn't want.

Although I did know several Cadets that ran fast and far away from some academic departments. ;)
