Hello, this is my 1st time asking a question, as I have been able to read through and get most of my questions answered. THANK YOU!!
I am a mom of a HS Senior/Female that has completed her application for USMA. She just finished her Dodmerbs today. I had spoken with the Chief Operations person for the Congressman the day of her nomination interview and he mentioned that they only allow 1 nomination per candidate/per Academy...in other words the Senator's/Congressman's staff do not duplicate nomination to give more opportunities, so you couldn't get both a Nomination from a Senator & Congressman (I have read in these forums that this can happen, but it seems was not going to happen now). Anyways, she received a call from her USMA liaison (she was also on our Congressman's Board for Nomination and her husband works for WP in some capacity) and she called to congratulate her last week. She told her she had received a nomination. Needless to say... she was super excited. We stopped by the Congressman's office today to pick up a hard copy of the nomination, as she hadn't received one and was told by the same Chief Operations person that she was not high enough on the list, so the Liaison for USMA had recommended her to USMAP, as her Math scores was not good. I asked him, as I read, somewhere on the USMAPS, that a nomination was needed to be recommended to USMAPS, but he said they had done it for the past 8 yrs and they only recommend 1 candidate per year to USMAPS and have been successful for the 8 yrs. My daughter called her USMA Liaison and she said that she was in a good position to get USMAPS and to reach out to her Regional Commander, which she called, left a vm and sent an email, to further assist her going forward. My question is...how does this sound? Does anyone know when they will send out information on if she gets in? Any feedback is very appreciated.
Here are her stats:
ACT: 28 (English: 32; Math: 24; Reading: 30; Science: 28)
SAT: 1190 (English: 650; Math: 540)
GPA: 3.3 (3.6 weighted).
Her class ranking is: 142/592.
She is very involved in her MCJROTC at school and is the XO. She has oodles of awards, community service, etc. She did Volleyball for a year and is currently taking Kickboxing.
Thank you
