USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Correction..none are reported on SAF. SAF Is not the whole picture. SAF is a good sampling, but the number of Candidates who have not heard one way or another at this point is small, and getting smaller.

BGO Area Coordinators have no role in the process , and certainly aren't pressuring Admissions. Admissions knows their job, and is right on track. As I noted the other, this year really isn't different than the past.
SAF is probably better than the rest of the picture. Chances are, if you stumble across this forum and you are active within it, you are more proactive with your admissions (you care more than the average joe..) and the fact that no one on this forum has posted about an appointment is absolutely insane.

Based upon the Appointment List, SAF represents roughly 10% of the applicants. I don't believe that participation in SAF means an applicant is more "proactive", cares more or less, or has any better or worse chance, than the person who simply follows the guidance on the USNA.edu website, completes their application, and waits for the result patiently. Much of the angst on SAF is self created and perpetuated without a factual basis. I know its easier to be more objective when you don't have a dog in the fight, but I also have the opportunity to observe the class building process from the perspective of multiple candidates instead of one at a time.

Do you often see appointments this late in the game or is it mostly NAPS, Foundation, Waitlist and TD?
All of the above are possible ... beyond that, I try to avoid adding to the speculation-- bottom line, you are still in the game until you aren't.

Shout out to the long time SAF members, moderators and BGOs. I feel like you have to repeat yourselves over and over. While I’ve only been here for a few months, I feel the mood changes as the app cycle moves. Year after year you probably see this happen. Way to stick it out and be here for us! ❤️

TD 😭😭. My DD only applied to USNA after feeling at home @ NASS. We have no military background, she's first generation American. I wish we would've done so many things differently based on what I know now (Thanks for this forum), but I found you too late. Off to plan B. With her associates degree completed upon graduating HS, she'll be done with college in 2 yrs. Not sure if she'll want to reapply - She's still in school.. We are 💔. Good luck everyone.
I am so sorry 🙁🙁 I hope that she succeeds in her future endeavors

You are kind to say that. It’s hard to watch every year. I think disappointed candidates and parents go through the stages of a mini-grieving process. It hits people different ways.

You a better chance of getting a robocall for a campaign donation from your MOC than a call for a NAPS offer.
Radio silence last year when DD got appointment to NAPS from the MOC who nominated her, so don't expect anything but that offer showing up on the CIS portal.
