USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

My DS was a re-applicant PNom (it did show in Java Script). He was TD last week, then put back to Pending to be TD yesterday. Only thing that has me question the portal is his colllege transcripts box is still unchecked. I also, believe they must have really went through the package with a fine tooth comb.

Rooting for your DS to get pulled off the waitlist ……
Hate to hear this. The roller coaster of emotions is really hard for us parents and the kids.

A lot of people think a PNom = an appointment. Unfortunately it does not.

Woke up early.... I saw TD for my daughter. Her dream of being on the Yard with her sister is over but she has an awesome Plan B with USCGAS or USMMA. Two great options and really excited for her future. She really worked hard for these opportunities.

It has been fun, nerve-wracking, and stressful, but I enjoyed sharing the ride with everyone. On to awesome plan B's!! I wish everyone great success in the future... Go NAVY! BEAT ARMY!
USMMA - Beat Coast Guard! It is great she has options. Nevertheless the sting of know hurts- I think sometimes it hurts us parents more than the kid.

Well, finally got the TD today. Turned down for NASS, turned down for Inspire (twice), didn’t get a nomination, and Annapolis was so kind to drag it out until April 16th to beat me down once more. Good luck to everyone else, it appears that Annapolis is just not in the cards for me.
Don’t say that. If you want it keep going!!!

To be honest, I would have been more keen to look at reapplying if they would have just turned me down when I didn’t get a nomination. The fact that they dragged it out this long is not really a cool thing to do.
Did they drag you out, potentially. You can still compete for an appointment to USNA and NAPS without one. Make it to the waitlist, and congressional districts sort of fade away, and you compete for any open slot possible.(correct me if I’m wrong) They saw something in you, but they had to make a decision.

What if you were next man up on the additional appointee list? No idea. But admissions has to wait for some declines, etc, to know where things are settling in. I’m positive they didn’t drag you out to cause you pain or dissatisfaction.

I know it’s disappointing. I’m sorry you got the news you ultimately did. But even though you didn’t have a nom, you were still being considered. That say a lot about you, in a positive way.

Good luck to you!

Possibly, but tired of all the consolation prizes. To drag someone out this long and not even make a waitlist or NAPS tells me that that there was not much consideration.

I’d be interested to know why they’re expecting a much higher percentage of appointees to accept considering there hasn’t been a yield that large in the last 5 years. Truly strange
