USNA Medical Waiver Question

Hey Everyone,

How does the medical waiver process work for the Naval Academy? Do they initiate the process if an candidate is competitive, or do they initiate it when the candidate is offered a conditional offer of appointment?

I'm kinda confused about this, because the admissions board determined that I was academically qualified/physically fit back in October and today they told me that my medical waiver was pending review from the board of admissions. Since I was unable to secure a nomination from any of my MOC, I'm not sure why they would still be pursuing a waiver.

The way that it was explained to me, it is when a Conditional Offer of Appointment is extended. Being scholastically qualified, apparently, does not necessarily start the waiver process.

Yes, I applied for the vice-presidential nom around the beginning of January.
