I am currently a 10th grade student and would like to apply to the USNA Summer STEM Program.

1.) What do I need to put onto the Summer STEM application? Is it GPA, standardized test scores, list of ECA's, essays, etc?

2.) Is there any information on the acceptance rate to the summer STEM program?

3.) Lastly, am I competing against the thousands of other applicants across the nation or just my district?

Go read this very recent thread.

I haven’t seen acceptance rates published, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist or might be out there. Have you researched stories on USNA’s STEM program?

I believe it is a national competition, but they probably try not to over gift one District over another.

By the way, as I tell my students, there are other great ways to see the Academy. One good route is by attending one of the USNA summer sports camps. Many of my students have participated in them across all of the SAs. Students stay in the dorms, eat in the mess hall, meet mids/cadets and staff, and they also work with the coaching staff. Only a limited number of students will be picked for the STEM Camps -- I have had several attend and some applying this year too. Point is that the numbers are limited (as you noted) so don't 'read' anything negative into missing an invitation. The majority of current midshipmen (and cadets) did not attend a STEM camp or summer seminar at one of the SAs. Good luck!
