Visitation Opportunities

Hey everyone,

So some of my friends who'll be going to college in Philadelphia, New York, and Boston have been asking me if it'll be at all possible for them to visit West Point during the academic year and see me. Is it? Also, I heard you pretty much get home football gamedays off, would those be good?

I visited my son (Class of 2015) on R-Day (not good for friends), A-Day (friends can come), a home football game, and Plebe-Parent weekend. Plus plebes get another weekend or two - depending on their grades. On other weekends, friends can visit WP but the Cadet is limited to West Point and the immediate area. Much of this depends on the Cadet's grades and the Company Commander (some variations between Cadet Companies)

also, when cadets get passes on 3-day weekends to visit neighboring cities, what forms of transportation do they use to get there? rental cars? trains? planes? ruck?

Many plebes take their first semester pass on Labor Day weekend. You might have other pass opportunities, but not many. Your friends can come to HF any time...you'll have an academic year schedule so you'll know when you have weekends "free" (using that term loosely, as you'll be a plebe).

But your friends can't stay overnight with you in the barracks - so they'll have to crash elsewhere if they come and visit.
