Hi! I'm an 8th grader and I'm going to be in Colorado Springs next week Wed-Fri (Aug 7th, 8th, and 9th) with my family. Is there a better day to visit the Academy? Any advice on the best way to plan my day to see the most? Thanks!

You can visit USAFA any day you wish; literally thousands of tourists do this.

If you're looking for a more personal, perhaps a cadet led tour, I was told by admissions today that they're not going to start those until September.

The 7th is a transition day and the 8th and 9th are the first couple days of classes. If you are interested in seeing more than just the view from the chapel wall and the visitor's center, there might be a friendly cadet on here willing to show you around a bit. Otherwise, I would say it doesn't really matter which day you visit. There may be a noon meal formation on Friday though, if you are interested in seeing that. Not sure how much the schedule of calls has changed in a year so hopefully a current cadet will get some time to chime in.

There is indeed a noon meal formation on the 9th. It should start around 11.50, so if you're by the chapel wall then you'll get a good view of it.

Thanks! We were thinking of going on to visit Wed., but now we'll go on Friday.
