Wait For It...Wait For It! eesh

TWE Arrived

The mail delivery was 2 hrs. past the normal delivery time.:unhappy: Anyway, the TWE arrived today. Bad news - no appt., but the good news is DS is on the wait list.

I wonder how many applicants were placed on the wait list and how many appts. are returned. Does anyone know historical figures for # of wait listed receiving an appt.? Thanks

To all those still waiting, think positive. Like I said before, I believe anyone who lasted this long deserves to be given an appt. or at least wait listed.

Our son just got his letter and he is honored to be wait-listed for CGA. Thank you to everyone who has been praying and encouraging us stragglers. Wishing good news for everyone still waiting.

Congrats to hsjude!! :thumb: Keep your spirits up!

Wishing all you guys the best! I've decided to decline the CGA and accept the Naval Academy's appointment. So, those of you who are on the waitlist are probably glad to hear that!

MMI=Marion Military Institute. Many go there for Service Academy Prep, both sponsored by a SA, and unsponsored, with the hopes of reapplying and getting an appointment the following year.

Nothing in todays Upstate NY mail. Its about a 2.5 hour drive to the USCGA, maybe I'll drive down on Friday and save them the postage and me the stomach ulcer!
I feel like its an episode of 24 tick......tick......tick.......tick:eek:

Gosh, I'm gone a day and there's a million posts.

BM3Miller, You are amazing to have such an awesome attitude. I think you going forward with MMI is a great idea and will be very notable to the CGA next year. Just shred through those classes and be encouraged that you are going after YOUR prize. I'm impressed with your tenacity and am still counting on you to show the greenhorns all the CG experience you already have. Please follow you dream, and I'll check in on your from time to time.

Your Friend,

 officer

I was pulling for you. Sorry you didn't make it.
But you know what, I'm impressed with your initiative. There aren't that many BM's in the Coast Guard showing your drive. You've already demonstrated your courage and leadership-coxswains and crew are amazing on small boats.
So I'd just like to encourage you to continue. I've always thought that the best officers to work for were the ones that have come up through the ranks.
Keep moving forward through the next set of open doors and here's to your future success'.:thumb:

God has a plan for you BM3 Miller!

I sure was hoping that you would receive positive news! I am happy that you already have a plan (MMI). Sounds like a solid plan at that. Give it your all and soon you will reach your goal...just with a detour. These "detours" in life enrich our lives even more. Best wishes to you with your new venture!

officer and plmmar- thank you so much you guys are making me feel better already... ill still be praying for both of you and your children at CGA

It's Finally Friday!

Good Morning Everyone!! Yup...it's Friday! Couldn't sleep last night but for some reason I have a hugh sense of relief today...have no idea why but I'm sure as the day progresses...my anxiety for our son will grow! LOL! :shake:

May we all get rest sometime soon..... Son is calling his AO today after class for an update...

Update...Update...Update!

Just heard from Luigi & here's what he had to say....

"When I spoke to Admissions yesterday, I was told that all full appointment offers have been mailed.

They are also actively mailing out "wait-list" letters and rejections.

Appointments go out via USPS Express Mail (2 day max service) so everyone with an appointment will have a letter by today or tomorrow.

Non-appointment and wait-list letters go by regular US Mail so that may take a little longer, but NY is no more than 2 days max time for a First Class Letter, so my guess is TODAY is the day you will find out either way.

(I do have a new list of all the Prep School/CGA Scholars appointments, but no additional appointment info has been released to the AAP network as of now)"

Hear's my reaction........
Okay, that calmness I told you about is officially gone!

Thanks for the Update...

disey3 and Luigi59! Knowledge is good! Those who are are waiting on this forum as sooo appreciative of the scoop! Nothing in our mailbox so far this week.

DS did get a call last night from an 860-701-XXXX number on his cell at about 7:30 PM our time. He missed the call and saw the alert. Asked me if he should call back! That poor person in Eastern CT (11 PM) told him wrong number!

So, we will know when we know and not a minute before that!!

Keep the faith. There is a plan. We just don't know it yet!!!
