Wait For It...Wait For It! eesh

Typically (although this is NOT a typical year) how many appointments are offered off of the waiting list? As I understand it there are +- 40 candidates on the waiting list. We have already seen several on the wait list opt for other options along with several whom received appointments choose a different option. Anywhere from ___ on the low to ___ on the high would be a great answer for us on the wait list. Thanks!

I don't think anyone from Admissions (Objee) has confirmed the number of candidates on the waiting list this year.

The "40" number was used in a previous post to describe the list from LAST YEAR, and even that number was a guess.

And it (40) is NOT the number this year. With considerably more candidates, you can expect that the waiting list number is considerably higher this year.

It is entirely possible that no candidates from the waiting list are offered appointments this year.

It all depends on how many candidates with full appointments decline, along with those with conditional appointments who fail to obtain a waiver.

Congrats to all.

Approximately how many appointments were offered off of the waiting list last year?

Still no letter in CT... please send it to me, USCGA? :(

I've sent e-mails to both of my admissions officers (neither responding over the course of 3-4 days), posted on admission's facebook page (no response), and no one answered the phone at the admissions office today.

Is everyone on vacation?

Newman is our Mailman!

No news again on Monday in NY. What can this mean?

We do know our DS fate, as he was waitlisted, but it was through his AAP.
No TWE via the USPS. So if you split the difference in our States, the letter carrier is busy in Atlantic City or he is on the NJ Turnpike with a guy named Kramer picking up empty deposit bottles and cans!
Keep the Faith, No news is still good news!

Hang in there all those still waiting. The mail will eventually arrive. I remember that my dad once received a letter that was mailed a year prior and from the same town that he lives. It traveled across 10 states before it finally arrived (based on the postal stamping).

You got me good with this one! Almost spit coffee on the monitor this am! Newman MUST be delivering to those who continue to wait for an answer...maybe Kramer blacked out the lines on the expressway...

Who's waiting? Let's keep this thread going until the last of us get an answer "To Wait or Not To Wait...":thumb:

Hello Newman!

Nothing again in the mail today in New York from the CGA - will have to email/call the AO again. This is all very strange and frustrating. Any thoughts?

Irishcoast call/e-mail your AAP or PM one of the AAP's on this forum - i.e. (Luigi59), nothing in the mail in VA. today either.
I'm thinking they took the bottle/can deposit money and are making a Cannoli run!
Trying to stay positive but I realize the clock is ticking. Good Luck!

My son was not accepted, he received a call from his AO.

Son will explore other avenues to eventually serve as an officer in the Coast Guard.

Thanks for everyone's support, our prayers will be with all of you.

Sorry to hear that IC...I just this minute sent you a related PM. Best of luck to your son and know that these things always happen for a reason.

So sorry for the long wait and denial. I wish you the best. -officer

I thought...

So we have rocky33 still waiting for any answer and didn't we have some folks in Cali waiting as well?
