I tried posting my question on a different thread - but I'm not sure if I explained very well, so I'll try again.

I've read alot of comments about the status/chances of people on the NWL. I just got my letter, so I'm figuring my odds aren't too good. My question has to do with how the list is generated. My letter was signed by Major Childers. He is apparently the Admissions officer for athletics. I guess you would classify me as a "soft" recruit, although I am 3-Qd and have a nomination.

My actual question - is there more than one list? Am I on the "general" list - or am I hoping that one of the football recruits de-commits?

I am sorry that you received the WL letter, I am sure it must be disappointing. I do not know the answer to your question but imagine that a good place to start would be with the signer of your letter? Then proceed from there.

    Good luck!

I was told that there are different lists. If Captain Childers signed your letter you are a Division 1 athletic recruit, and will be consdered differently from the list that your regional recruiter maintains.
Captain Childers indicated that he expects the current freeze on new appointmests to be lifted shortly and that the athletic recruits who were at the top of the slate when the freeze was instituted in mid Februarey, will be recieving appointments in the near future. Good luck!
