DS was offered a conditional appointment to CGAS pending DodMERB exams. All that is done and based on history status is "Pending Waiver Submission/Review". They are waiting on one last remedial submission from him (taking care of today) but does anyone know how long this process usually takes?

Unfortunately, I don't believe anyone in the forums will be able to answer that. In our case, our DD medical waiver process started in December and was not finally approved until May. Granted, her case was unusual, but I think you have to be prepared that a final decision may not come until just prior to R day.
Several years ago, the final waiver authority was moved from the CGA Superindendants desk to Coast Guard HQ. This just added to the process.
Opinion. You will need to hold on to your solid plan B as long as you need to.
Hope that helps and good luck!
