Unfortunately, wait. There are more boards to come, many more. He is still in it, and you never know where the line was drawn, hang in there! I know it is really excruciating!!!Geez. DS has 4.0, 33 on the ACT, president of his NHS chapter, varsity athlete, etc., and applied early but didn't get a notification today. What's a guy gotta do?
Thank you!Congrats to klgsd's DS2; 4for40; and ROTCParent's DS.
Awesome news! Is your oldest there, too? My DD is there and loves it. Has your son applied EA?Just received an email and then checked the status.....DS2 received a 4 year NROTC scholarship to his first choice school (Notre Dame). Couldn't be happier and so excited.....now for the other challenge....actually getting accepted into that first choice school!
DS 2 submitted application mid July.
However, DS1 submitted early last year as well and did not get the scholarship til end of April last year.
Very similar records, just be patient(although we know much easier said than done) Good luck!
Yes - my oldest son is there, also NROTC 4 year. He will be commissioning in May....hoping for the Aviation community. However, if he doesn't get aviation...he said he's "either going up or down"...second choice is Subs....if he goes that route, he's looking at nuclear propulsion. He applied early action.....second son will not apply early action, so I'm in for the waiting game to see if he gets admitted regular decision, otherwise, he will have to look at transferring his scholarship.Awesome news! Navy Option boards should start in September but I cannot confirm if they have. It takes 2-3 weeks to get the results out. Marine Option boards meet in November and (I think) Feb. Nursing Option boards meet twice but I don't know when. I would not be surprised if it's same general dates as Marine Option boards.
Is ND his top choice? If so I would have your DS reach out to his Admissions officer and let him/her know about that NROTC and that ND is his first choice to see if they would recommend, EA. Our DD had the same ACT as your DS2, applied EA since she knew she was not going to improve her file and then alerted her admissions rep about being awarded the NROTC Scholarship there. She was accepted EA. The former PNS said that based upon their relationship with the university, if there are 2 similar applicants, the school will give the admissions nod to the NROTC scholarship winner and being an early winner can influence admissions.Yes - my oldest son is there, also NROTC 4 year.
