will USMA weight my gpa under their own criteria when they view my application? and if so under what parameters? my gpa is a mere 3.4 but almost everysingle one of my classes for the past 3 years (with the exception of english) is either accelerated or AP level.

Yes they have their own way of weighing the GPA's, but they don't let anyone know what it is.

What we do know is that they try to put every school on the same level, but then adjust the GPA based on the type and difficulty of the courses you are taking.

If you want some more information, I know this question has been brought up several times since I joined this forum, so maybe do a search or something to find what other people have asked or have to say. Poking around on the other Academies areas doesn't hurt either.

I got my appointment with a 3.4 GPA with a few AP classes. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

You guys are right - Admissions will look at your transcript in context of the courses you took, the level of those courses and the grades received in those courses. They will also consider class rank which shows how well you perform against your peers who have had the same educational opportunities as you.
Good Luck!
