Does anyone know if after beast at West Point do the new cadets move into different barracks and do they keep same roommates

They will move into the barracks where their academic year companies are located. As for roommates, because they are going through Beast with other new cadets who will also be in their academic year company, they could conceivably end up with the same roommate, but it is unlikely. They also do not get to choose roommates, particularly first semester of plebe year.

With current Supe. (Superintendent) they can pick roommates after Plebe year. I have two sons at USMA and you have to get used to working with different personalities. Surprisingly enough, older son got best grades semester he had least favorite roommate.

Also, cadets switch rooms and roommates every semester. So, as a parent, do not get too attached to your kid's roommates.
I think this depends on who the Supe/Comm are and what they decide to do. There have been times when they do not change things up, and they may have the same roommates for a couple of years.

I had kids there for 9 years but it doesn’t matter. Don’t get too attached to the room or the roommates. There is choice as they advance but change is the only constant.

Old Grad here. I lived in 3 different buildings during my 4 years at West Point due to all of the constructions taking place. After plebe year, I got to choose my roommates, which were the same from Yearling-Firstie. The building they live in depends on which regiment/company they are in. I was fortunate to not have to change companies during my 4 years, but the class of 2018 had to scramble companies twice, meaning they also had to move buildings. Not sure what it's like at school now, but it can vary year to year depending on the leadership.

Yes my son seemed to be most productive the semester he wasn't rooming with a good friend/friends
