West Point Cadets rescued by NYPD Helicopter

From a PR POV, do y'all think this is positive or negative for West Point?

Somewhat negative, but nothing with legs....

Shows that cadets are active - positive.
Shows that cadets make mistakes - negative.

The subject is the NYPD cops who rescued them. I don't think many New Yorkers will think of it minutes after reading it....

Did they break anything? No.
Did they create traffic in Manhattan? No.
Did the interrupt the coffee supply of the Big Apple? No.

It's an interesting rescue story about the NYPD that just happens to involve cadets from West Point. No biggie. It certainly wasn't written to chastise West Point, the Army, or the U.S. armed forces...although it's likely embarrassing.

He's a reporter...

LITS, my post was made with the firm belief in the principle of "innocent until proven guilt". As we find out more and more of the truth about whom this new poster is (a reporter for a "newpaper" (if you can actually call the NY Post a "news" paper without regurgitating in your mouth a little)), and what his intentions most likely were (trolling for unsolicitated information in the identify of the cadets involved), I can only come to two conclusions.

1) Congrats to the Service Academy Forums! You've moved up in the world and have become a "known" entity, to include being known by at least one sleazy reporter who has resorted to circumventing standard media protocol procedures to get his "inside scoop". Not your fault, SAF, but it does say that you're getting well known.

2) He's a witch! Buuuuuuurn him!

Or at least coming up fairly early in a Google search.

Another "research technique" of the true journalistic professional. Glad to see his intrepid reporter skills didn't let him down in this case.

I didn't realize the DeVry Institute also has a journalism major.

This little ol Jawja gal was tickled pink to be quoted in that big city newspaper!

Good catch troll hunters!
Momof3boys
Bullet, :tomcat: I am sure glad it is only a flesh wound and they will be ok. (only reference I can think of)

It took three reporters to write that story?? :shake: Otis to West Point, 154 KM. Atlantic City, 144 KM.
