My DD is attending an overnight on November 7th and we have not received a confirmation yet. When she goes on to scheduling site it shows her scheduled for that date, but no email has arrived with details of visit. She has left a message for person in admissions, but we want to schedule flight ASAP and were wondering if anyone who has already attended this Fall could tell us what time visit ends on the second day. Thank you!

This is frustrating.....continue to call admin. Pester them. Maybe even reach out to your RC also.

DS has not gone yet but he is next week. According to the email he received he is done at 1245 the second day but there is the option to meet with the Breifing Officer of the day at 1pm. Hope that helps. Feel free to PM me if you need more info :)

Thank you very much! That is very helpful. DD finally got through to girl who handles visits and needless to say she could not help at all. Told her she could see she's scheduled, but had no idea why she didn't get email and didn't have any other information regarding times or packing list that she could send. DD is going to email her RC to try and get these details but at least now we can book flights. I appreciate the response.

The nugget, about the over night is the opportunity to sit down with someone from admissions to review your file. They will discuss things to improve, connect a face with the file, and will give your DD a boost of energy.

Newark is the easiest to fly in and out of.
Good Luck

Yes, she is looking forward to getting some face time with admissions and will have her most recent SAT scores before we leave so will be bringing those with her (hoping for an improvement). She has a great RC who has been very helpful through this entire process with constant communication regarding where she can and should keep improving. She is hoping he will be in the office while she is there so she can meet and thank him in person. We are originally from just south of West Point (now in TN) so we are going to make a little family visit out of the trip :) We can't do anything easy so going to fly into Hartford to visit some friends near Albany the Saturday/Sunday before her visit and then out of LaGuardia which is close to family!

We are making a short family visit too :) Heard from family that traffic around LaGuardia is worse that normal so plan accordingly :) If she doesn't get the info she needs we can forward you a copy of DS's email.

Did your children request the visits, or did an invitation come from USMA?

Thanks for the heads up about traffic around LaGuardia being worse than usual...we will plan accordingly! If her RC doesn't get back to her, we will definitely reach out for a copy of that email :) We appreciate the help.

No problem, :)

Over night visits are limited to those applicants who have received an LOA, LOE or recruited (academics and athletics).

Quick question if you don't mind, I received a letter which stated that I have an "authorization" for an overnight. Does that mean it has the same weight of "requesting a visit" or does it mean more? As when I try logging on to book it, it seems as though I have to request it. Thanks.

I do believe when scheduling it online you have to request the date you'd like but would not be able to choose overnight if you were not already authorized. My understanding from reading posts of those with way more experience than me is you have to have an appointment, LOA or LOE to schedule an overnight. Hope that helps.

Would you happen to
When you are there at WP as the family and dropping off you DD, I would encourage you to take the long tour of the Post. They will review a lot of American history.

Would you be able to tell me who/what office I would contact to book the long tour? Thanks!

You book tours of West Point through the Visitors' Center. Google "West Point Tours". There is a 1-hour tour and a 2-hour tour.
