I am hoping that someone can give me a realistic opinion on whether or not I can get into the Naval Academy. I will apply for the class of 2017. I have a 4.0 unweighted gpa (my school doesn't weight) at a fairly small school. I am ranked 1 out of 152 and feel really good about the ACT that I just took (feeling a 32 or 33). By the time I graduate, I will have completed AP classes that include U.S. History, Calculus AB, Language & Composition, Literature, American Government, and Biology (if my school offers it next year). I will have completed concurrent college enrollment classes that include First Responder, EMT Basic, and Chemistry. I live in a small town in Colorado, so I should have a little bit of an easier time receiving a nomination (I am also eligible for the Presidential nomination, but does anyone who's eligible receive it? I know that few get an appointment from it). I am on the soccer and basketball team and plan on playing Varsity on both next year as well as being a soccer captain. I completed a year-long leadership class as a sophomore and am on the Knowledge Bowl team. I am a Student Government representative and in National Honor Society. I will have about 150 hours of community service by the time I graduate. If it makes any difference, I am a low income Hispanic, and my brother is a Plebe at the Naval Academy. Assuming that I pass the CFA and medical exam, what are my chances of receiving a nomination and then getting offered an appointment?
