I have recently received a number of inquiries asking questions like?

Will I be DQd?
Should I try and apply?
Will I receive a waiver?
What are my chances....?
Yada, yada, yada of the myriad of versions of "What if?"

FACTS=:

100% accurate:
If you do NOT apply, you will neither be medically qualified or disqualified.
If you do NOT apply, I can guarantee you will NOT receive a medical waiver decision.

Academies = If you receive a DoDMERB DQ and if you are not competitive for an offer of appointment (deemed by Admissions), you will NOT be considered by the Academy for a medical waiver. If you are, you will be considered. There is NO speculation on what that waiver decision will be until they review YOUR case.

National ROTC Scholarship winners (usually high school applicants) = You won't be asked to complete a DoDMERB for this (even though you may have completed one for an Academy application), until and unless you are offered the scholarship. If DoDMERB DQd, you will automatically be "considered" for a medical waiver. There is NO speculation. You will know the decision, when they issue their decision.

Campus Based ROTC scholarship = (You are already on campus and not awarded a National scholarship). If DoDMERB DQd, your Commander (Navy or Air Force) or your PMS (AROTC Professor of Military Science) MUST request you be considered for a medical waiver to the respective Service medical waiver authority.
