Does anyone know when USNA starts sending out denials? Anytime after receiving a nom? Only after April 15?

Can't remember exactly from last year but I think it was late Jan-Feb timeframe. They tended to come in waves like the appointments did.

+1 Hoops.

But they continue to trickle out through the spring. In 2015, my DS agonized through mid-April, before getting the TWE.

Maybe this has already been answered in a different thread but will it change on the portal first or come in the mail? For either an acceptance or denial

Appointments usually come in one of two ways... phone call from MOC or a portal update. USNA usually gives the MOCs 3-5 days to call first before updating portals. On the rare occasion, someone gets a BFE first.

Rejections are by snail mail if I remember correctly. Everyone calls it the TWE.

Last year DD received an email telling her that her portal had changed, that was the TWE last year...."turned down by USNA" that was late Feb. She never received a letter in the mail.

Thanks for update. Couldn't remember on denials. Used to be snail mail.

I received the call about my appointment from my MOC on Tuesday. I am not sure if you would be able to answer this, but should I be expecting the BFE to come soon or does it take some time for it to arrive. Any insight you may have is appreciated, thanks.

It could take a few days to a few weeks. With Christmas week people will be taking vacation so things will slow some in admissions. The BFE is great but the Permit to Report which comes out in the spring has more information than the BFE. You actually accept your appointment on the portal.

Thank you for the information, first time I am hearing of the "Permit to Report".

Your portal will start showing action items after an appointment is received and accepted. Last year, after receiving an appointment DD had three actions posted to her portal: criminal background, body art and a third element which I think was proof of citizenship. Once those were done - more actions showed up in her portal.

Nothing happens until you click the 'accept' button

Denials could show up at any time. If your WCS is too low or you haven't completed your application by the deadline or you don't get a NOM, USNA will start closing those out. It certainly would be well before 4/15. There are some other similar threads with more details.
