Hi all,
My soon to commission NROTC daughter received a message from BUMED on May 8th saying she “doesn’t meet established physical standards due to a remote history of Stevens Johnson syndrome-SJS. ( She also had some psychiatric issues her junior year that she resolved and will have a note from her treating military psychiatrist saying she’s good to go commissioning/deployment wise.)We are both a blind sided by the SJS call as she was given a waiver 4 years ago and was awarded a NROTC scholarship. No direction as to what to do next wrt to SJS issue, lots of guidance wrt mental health. She has tried to access her old DODMERB account, which was de activated due to inactivity, she is in communication with the technical support people at the account, but in the meantime we are both trying to figure out where this old waiver went. Any ideas? Her CO and LT are aware of the situation.
