... so with IDF preparing for a siege warfare in Gaza, Syria and Lebanon already launched artillery and mortar shells threatening Israel with multiple fronts to defend. Yesterday, the POTUS pledged support to Israel and its declaration of war. With U.S. regional capabilities, the 5th Special Forces Group (A) can conduct a covert, special reconnaissance to identify threats in the region. Since the 300,000+ strong IDF bogged down in seige warfare, they need some major help from the U.S. The recon team provides human intelligence (HUMINT) to the NSA/POTUS and covert direction of airstrikes launched from USN Destroyers armed with Tomahawk Cruise Missiles. For unforseen circumstances, the recon team can also conduct direct actions and securing high value targets (HVT).

... just sharing some tidbits here among forum participants.
During my training so many moons ago, the current "special reconnaissance" mission used to be called "strategic reconnaissance." The data collected has tremendous significance at the strategic/POTUS level. I'm not sure when the switch took place but I would guess sometime in the late 2000s. Another interesting change was the elimination of International Morse Code from your skill sets. Back then, I was required to learn Morse Code and I became quite proficient at it and can transmit/receive codes at 40 wpm. (Someone wrote in the latrine wall that Jesus can send codes at 100 wpm). To this day, I can still copy codes from honking cars . Also, we started using an ancient relic (as in Nintendo digital ping pong game) of the modern laptop where we typed in coded sentences first, and by clicking send, the message burst into the closest U.S. satellite.
