Workouts???

Drink lots and lots of water, almost to the point where you start to feel a bit queasy. (Do not go over that)

And yeah, run a lot.

Workout alone might not be sufficient to "lose 8 lbs." If your caloric intake is higher that your caloric burn rate, you won't lose any weight. Some folks eat more than before when they start a new exercise routine, so they don't lose any weight although they are exercising more.

In general, a good breakfast, good lunch, and light dinner and aeorbic exercises are a good way to lose weight. For exercising, you need to slowly increase your intensity as you can easliy hurt yourself.

If you look up HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts online, there are hundreds! Whether it's swimming, running, circuits, or any other sport. Very beneficial

Eat appropriately and run (really a jogging pace is better for fat burning) or do swimming.

It is relative to your body weight. 8 lbs is a lot if you are around 100 lbs. If you are over 200 lbs your body could fluctuate in water weight alone by 8 lbs in a good run on a hot summer day. That is why it is important to weigh yourself consistently at the same time each day.
