I am just worried about what my chances are now. I have completed the portal and received a congressional nomiation. I am not the principal nominee. I am currently 2q just missing my medical. I spoke to someone at WP about getting me a DODMERB appt but he said I am not competive to warrant a medical. I just finished my medical for the Naval Academy and Air Force. I just don't understand why I can't get a medical appt for WP. Can someone please enlighten me.

I don't understand. Have you completed your DoDMERB exams?

Those only need to be done once. Once they're done, your results are forwarded to the other academies and ROTC programs automatically when they request it.

Are you talking about a disqualification and waiver consideration? In that case, it's entirely up to West Point to individually request a waiver. Same with USAFA and USNA, NROTC, AFROTC, and AROTC. You could be waived for one program and denied for another due to the specific needs of each program.

You spoke to "someone at WP". Phone the Regional Admissions Officer and talk to him DIRECTLY. If he tells you you are not competitive then see what you can do to change that evaluation. If you are a senior it is probable too late to do anything profound but I think the Admissions officer will give you a straight answer.

This seems relatively late in the game for the DoDMERB, if you understand what I am trying to say. Most candidates, including myself, had the medical examinations over the summer in order to avoid an issue such as this one. I don't want to assign causation because something could have prevented you from getting the exam until now. My best advice would be exactly what BigNick said.

There are several factors for not being able to do the DoDMERB exam until now, I suppose. My case was simply that DoDMERB never got my information (this was fixed now).

jennifer8490, can you clarify your issue? Is the problem you're having a waiver issue or a medical exam issue?
