Would being part of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) help my application?

I take college classes, and I recently received an invitation to join the Phi Theta Kappa (for students with a 3.5+ GPA) chapter at my local community college. It is some form of Honor Society. Would this look good on my application, or would it be considered a waste of time and money. Does the Naval Academy give any value to things like this? Thank you all in advance.

It involves a membership fee plus regional costs.

I wouldn’t think it is worth it - but others can correct me.

If the invitation is only based on your GPA which USNA already looks at, then I don't see any added benefit to this. There are various clubs/organizations in both h.s. and college that sound impressive but are really just resume fillers. If the highlight of any such activity is getting chosen to join, then it probably doesn't mean much in any application. Leadership that USNA considers would be examples of where you have actual responsibilities/lead others/organize/etc.
