My understanding is that most of them get kicked out after finals! They have to be out of Bancroft pretty quick, I think??
They do.My understanding is that most of them get kicked out after finals! They have to be out of Bancroft pretty quick, I think??
Seems a win-win...Sure, just pay all the BAH/BAS to USNA during the Bancroft stay...
The solutions really are pretty easy. It’s not hard with all the options. And it’s actually PRETTY DARN EXCITING to be looking for their 1st place!!They do.
It just seems odd to have a crazy temp situation that always occurs not have easier solutions.
I was a TAD Ensign and while I don't pretend to speak for anyone but myself, I would not have wanted to stay in Bancroft after living there for four years. Ensigns, at least those that I knew wanted a place where they could relax, entertain others (including the opposite gender) and come and go at a variety of hours. Can someone explain to me why USBNA and TAD Ensigns are not able to work out some deal to let them stay in Bancroft for Commission to Reform? Especially since they are assigned to USNA as it is. That seems like it would alleviate a majority of the housing. Don't they allow highschoolers, BGOs, etc to stay at various times? So it seems the regulations could be changed to allow it.
That make sense to me...I was a TAD Ensign and while I don't pretend to speak for anyone but myself, I would not have wanted to stay in Bancroft after living there for four years. Ensigns, at least those that I knew wanted a place where they could relax, entertain others (including the opposite gender) and come and go at a variety of hours.
Strangely, we were able to go to the Housing office and get referrals, go and scope out different places and make an appropriate choice. No parents were involved on my or my Ensign roommate's part.
I believe my son just crashed on friend’s couches/floors for the period of time he wasn’t in Bancroft.I was a TAD Ensign and while I don't pretend to speak for anyone but myself, I would not have wanted to stay in Bancroft after living there for four years. ^ Obviously not or never been a Midshipman ! The last thing any Grad would want is to stay in Bancroft Hall after graduation !Can someone explain to me why USBNA and TAD Ensigns are not able to work out some deal to let them stay in Bancroft for Commission to Reform
My times have changed..my wife and I moved and leased apartments three times, bought a house (condo) in Brunswick, without parental involvement. Now I'm still guaranteeing leases for a 30+ year old PHD student.Strangely, we were able to go to the Housing office and get referrals, go and scope out different places and make an appropriate choice. No parents were involved on my or my Ensign roommate's part.
I think this is DS' plan A...I believe my son just crashed on friend’s couches/floors for the period of time he wasn’t in Bancroft.
... my place or yours?.... lol... so just bantering...
* AIRBNB. Pricey. 54 rooms for one month starting 1 June. Price range $1500-$2300. 49 Whole house.$4000-$5500.
* USNA Lodging next to the donut shop. The suite can accommodate 3 people. Just need to coordinate with front desk to extend every two weeks. Downside is there's a bar downstairs and can get rowdy on weekends. Well, if you're an Ensign, join the group, then low crawl back to your room at 0330.
* New Military Lodging in Annapolis. Cottages at Greensburg Point, 410-293-3906.
* Crosswinds at Annapolis. Next to entertainment and dining center. Drink at every bar then roll back downhill to your apartment at 0530.
* Tent in my backyard. Free. Shower/Personal Hygiene in the yard (not in my backyard - in Bancroft). Downside - our neighbor next door is a beautiful, single, young lawyer with a convertible beemer. If you're an Ensign, how can you impress this maiden with a tent as a bachelor pad... maybe show your Navy sword... you know, how shiny and sharp it is?
