Portal?

What is the portal? Is that the same thing as the Application status?
 
That's what I thought, thank you! Our daughter's status is still "Candidate". I guess that is still good considering...

I believe I asked this before, but what do you guys think it means if we have made it this far without hearing anything? Does it mean we'll atleast make it on the wait list or have they just not sent out any TWE's? Any info would be great! Thanks!

I believe a TWE/no TWE is a better indicator of application status than the online "candidate" status is. I thought I read TWE recipients do not get a portal update.

Im pretty sure they get a portal update because i remember seeing last year people posting pictures of it. With that being said i agree nothing is going to change over Easter weekend, so I'm just gonna try not to think about it and look forward to another week of waiting! haha
 
I know what it means for our daughter, more sleepless nights! But I told her that she would rather be waiting than be out of the hunt.

Forgive me, I am new to all of this, what does TWE stand for? (at the risk of asking a dumb question)
 
Would anyone happen to know where on the thread last year the pictures were posted? Just wondering....

Its thin white envelope, pretty much what every college sends out to those who didn't get in. But hopefully u will never see one of those!

Thin White Envelope. It is what your QNV comes in. (Qualified, No Vacancy)
As opposed to BFE-Big Fat Envelope, containing an Offer of Appointment.
 
DS has gotten no updates, portals, emails, snailmail - nothing. This "waitlist" news IMO directly conflicts with the "500 appts to date" that we saw yesterday. But at any rate - not so sure, "no news is good news" at this point. So much conflicting information - take any information you get as a "best guess" situation.

Bottom line, if DS gets an appointment - All this waiting WILL BE WORTH IT!

Would they update the portal status before they sent a QNV letter out?
 
I think We we should all go with the "no news is good news" motto! I have heard everyone will know by April 15th can anyone confirm that? I am a candidate and I have not received any updates regarding my status either.
