AF ROTC Enrollment Allocation Results

A counseling form. Basically signing a new form 16 says that you know of the changes happening
Thank you!
I wonder if the 300s will "have" to sign the form? They are already contracted, committed and have completed EA. Just playing devils advocate here but what would the repercussions be for a 300 that refused to sign a form advising them of a change in their contract? Think they'll throw them out of the program? Again....just curious.

You will be signing this form as a current POC... I am pretty sure refusing to sign the form will get you thrown out!

Just wanted to chime in -- having attended NATCON, Col Dunn's in the same position we are. There are just so many options that can be taken to achieve the same thing. Get rid of AFA, get rid of AFROTC, anything is on the table (so to speak, not necessarily literally). Just trust that they will make the best decision for us in the swiftest manner. Prior to his arrival, he mentioned long meetings working with others to really push for AFROTC. He is doing his best in any way he can.

He did not mention anything on cuts or estimated EA arrival. Simply, we're all in the system (rack & stacked) and that he simply needs the numbers from Air Staff to plug in the system and generate. This is not new information, though.

We'll just have to remain patient!

P.S.: Col Dunn mentioned that he is moving on this Summer, as well as his staff. He told us AS200s to be prepared, because at FT, they will be taken advantage of it!

My biggest question will be if these stipend cuts are immediate or only activated on FY14?

These stipend changes are effective 1 October. Prior to this, you will receive a brief and Form 16 formally accepting these changes.

What do you mean they will take advantage of it?

I also didn't understand that statement. Maybe he meant they will be taken advantage OF.:shake::redface:

Sorry. What I meant was that at FT, be prepared to have to adapt to the staff changes (a.k.a. change of command) throughout the summer. What you know now won't be the same come FT, potentially.

Regarding Stipend Decrease: The 1 October date is mentioned in the ARMS memo straight from HQ AFROTC/RR.

It makes sense that the stipend wouldn't change until Oct because the budget runs Oct to Sept.

Additionally I don't know if AFROTC stipend falls under pay like ADAF, but pay was one area that the DoD could not touch regarding sequestration. If so, it would also explain why it will remain that way for contracted cadets until Oct 1st.

As for SFT. I think cadets would realize this yr will be different, not only for budgetary reasons, but also because GS's will be furloughed 14 days over the course of 5 months. That impacts everything.

Realistically a change of command during the summer will have very little impact. I doubt any O6 that takes command during SFT in a yr that has been goat roped already would try to change anything for FY13 SFT. They would get their ducks in order for FY14. The morale is their concern now, just as much as the training. Changing how Max 3 does it compared to 4 because there was a change of command makes no sense.

May-Aug is always a PCS season. I would think this happened in 2011, and 2009, and will happen again in 15. It isn't a biggie.

Yes. Stipend questions were also brought up at NATCON and Col Dunn mentioned stipend is completely separate from AFROTC, and is fully controlled by DoD.

EDIT: Pima, I'm terrible at making this clear; sorry. I was simply making a tip to any of the AS200s here on the boards that, because of change in AFROTC command, our chain of command can be vastly different throughout the summer. The chain of command is obviously something we must have memorized/know. It was mentioned that the expectation is for the FT trainers to take advantage of this and test out the cadets over the summer. Flexibility is the key to Air Power!

for those of you waiting to hear about EA's, you may not find out until Thursday, all of the 200s at my det received an email that we will find out on that day.

So two more days!

If your det is saying so, I am betting the list just hit the CoC's inbox with the release date and time.

Typically they know a full 24 hrs before the release. This allows the cadre to decide how they are going to inform the cadets.

As I said prior, our DS got a phone call the day before to report at a certain time the next day.

cralor,

Let's be honest if a cadet can't memorize a few new names instead of the old ones, they have a bigger problem than they can imagine. Your post just made me think that because there would be new higher ups that in mid-stream it was going to impact them on a day to day basis at SFT.

I do feel for this class.

Cadets remember you will be ranked out of SFT, and that is 20% of your AFSC. Study and work out.

Best thoughts, wishes and hopes for all of the 200's on Thursday.

I definitely agree with you Pima.

The need to memorize a few new names doesnt bother me. I mean, SFT is designed to be constantly changing.

Really? I hope they follow through this time. Cadre/POC didn't say a word this morning at LLAB or PT.

Drexel,

It would appear that backstreet's det may have only sent the mass email after 2 or 3, thus why your det may not have said anything at PT and LLAB. The cadre may have not received the list until this afternoon.

They may inform you all tomorrow for the Thursday release date. It really is getting down to the wire now. If it is done by the end of this week, and release next week, there will be cadets 2 weeks out before going into finals. Thursday for some dets is still going to be a hard push to get the bag drag and medical paperwork done.
