So ever since I could remember I have always wanted to serve. West Point has always been my dream school and I've been trying so hard these past few years to make myself as competitive as possible. As a back up I also am applying to army ROTC. I'm currently a junior in high school. However, one thing I feel that is really holding me back is my low SAT score (which I will get into later on). So here are my credentials.
SAT score: 1820. 600 Reading, 610 math. 610 writing with a 11/12 essay
I'm worried because this score is very low and out of all three tests I have taken this is the best one. However, taking the SAT again to get a higher score may be a waste because the next SAT is considered the "redesigned SAT" that is back to the 1600 scale.
Class rank: 32 of 190
GPA: 3.9 unweighted
4.42 weighted
Extra Curriculars:
-1 year Soccer JV
-worked as waiter in retirement home for 3 months
-4 year trombone player in concert band (including senior year)
-4 year varsity Fencing, and already designated Captain for next year (including senior year)
-4 year business club (including senior year), 1 year (sophomore year) as membership VP
-4 year community service club (including senior year)
-2 year enviormental club (including senior year), currently CO-VP of club
-4 year Varsity tennis (including senior year), currently a Captain and will most likely be a Captain next year
-Member of the National Honor Society
-2 year Tennis instructor at a free clinic in my town (including senior year)
Nominations:
Currently seeking as many as I can
CFA:
Pull Ups: 16
Crunches: 64
Pushups: 68
1 mile: 6:50
40 yard shuttle run: undetermined
basketball throw: undetermined
Advanced Classes:
-Currently in AP US history (plan on taking the test)
-currently in AP physic 1 (long story short my school hired a very unqualified physics teacher and taking the test would be a waste)
-All honors classes throughout my high school career (freshmen-current junior) so far except sophomore algebra 2
Please any feedback or anyone who has been through this process any advice or stories would help greatly. thank you so much
