500 USMA Appointments Mailed Out Today

Here is how it went for our son on the timing of events: 28 November 2016 letter saying he was qualified in all respects, congressional/board interviews 2-9 December 2016, 3 nominations to WP received around around 7-10 days later (3rd week of December 2016) and on 17 January 2017 a personal call from our US Congressman that an appointment was coming from WP. Our son is ecstatic. Hope all other get good news also.

That's what DD thought, she already figured out that it will take 3 days to get to us if sent priority :) She has a ROTC nom in portal but congressional not showing yet so she isn't sure if she will have chance this wave or not. Fingers crossed!
 
Well looks like I didn't get in this round... no mail for me :( I would think it'd be here by now since I live in Illinois

Not necessarily, we are in TN and DD figured out it will take 3 days by priority mail to us lol!
 
I really hope so. Thanks for the reassurances. How did she figure out that it would take 3 days though?

How long did it take for you to find out they were going to get you a waiver for surgery? I got DQ for surgery in November. Also did you have a nomination before receiving the waiver?
 
DD got her appointment today, and we live in Indiana. I can hardly keep the tears back. Congrats to everyone who received theirs already and for those holding out, remember this is only the first of many batches. It's worth the wait, I promise.
 
So according to the link above I'm supposed to be 2 day. The mail directly from the mailman didn't have it. Does priority possibly come in separately than normal mail? Richmond area of VA is where I am. Getting extremely nervous now

It is a square USMA insignia with Velcro dots to attach to your mortar( spelling?) board hat at graduation. It's a good thing they sent one, because my son is not crafty. It makes it easy to spot your graduate in the crowd. My daughter spent hours decorating hers for her university before high school graduation.

Some are not exactly spot on as DD found since all of TN says 2 day on map but she went a step further and actually entered zip codes in usps site and it gave her 3 days for our exact town (she's a bit analytical). I assume because we are more rural and it has to go to main post office first. So it may be a similar situation for you. Yes, priority can be delivered separate from other regular mail.

I'm in MD and haven't received one. I think if I was appointed it would have came by now considering people farther away have received them.
