Good news! My DD just checked her NROTC portal and selection status shows:

“Congratulations! You have been selected for a National NROTC Scholarship Navy Option Scholarship.”
Her scholarship has been placed to her top choice. All the paperwork will arrive by mail after two weeks.

So exciting! I still cannot believe it.

Congrats. You must feel like in cloud nine. What a relief and proud! Great job to your DD. What is it Tier 1, 2, or 3?

Thank you! It is a Tier 2 major: Computer Science. However, on the application she also selected the LREC option. We don’t know what she is selected for. I guess she will find out that in two weeks when her paperwork arrives.

Congrats to both families. You should be very proud of your children. All Navy and Army Scholarships are full tuition. If your kids got first choice that’s great. If not no sweat. First thing to do is accept scholarships ASAP. If your kids applied for other ROTC Scholarships and got them too accept them all. Once accepted to the school and if you decide to go you can request transfer of scholarship to that school if your scholarship is not placed there. Again congrats!

My son just checked and got one as well. Is there any way to know if it is a full four year or do we have to wait for the package in the mail?

Congratulations indeed. I bet both families are excited and relieved at the same time.

Congratualtions! Wonderful news! Curious as to when she submitted her NROTC application? My son is a junior and who is starting this process, and I am interested in your timeline.

DS did most of it over the summer and had it complete by September.

My DD finished her application in May but interview was only in August since she was away in Europe for the summer. Over the summer she sent in the final transcript and retook SAT. Her local coordinator forwarded her packet to Pensacola in September.

So if my son gets an AROTC scholarship as well (he applied for that as well) then he can accept both and pick later? Just want to be sure I understand.

Yes, he can accept any scholarship awarded and make his final decision after he has carefully considered all his options and his goals.

Congrats to all! Best wishes to those were not selected yet!
