Financial aid through FAFSA will cover the remaining costs.
VMI's bursar would know. He or she is a phone call away.Yes, I've reviewed that list as well. It's accurate at time of posting, but is subject to change. Hoping someone with first hand knowledge can clarify.

This is correct, my DS was awarded NROTC Scholarship for VMI. Prior to the award showing up on his portal he was awarded a local VMI scholarship that would have covered R&B however when the NRTOC was applied the Local VMI scholarship was rescinded. They stated the NRTOC fund was covering the need based which the local scholarship was supposed to. Now he has to attend NSI at Great Lakes in July (hopefully)First, congratulations on the NROTC scholarship. This is a great achievement.
My DS is a 1st at VMI and is out of state. He is on ROTC scholarship and I can confirm that VMI does not cover R&B for ROTC scholarship recipients. Also, if financial aid was offered prior to the scholarship, it will likely be rescinded or reduced.
Congratulations to your DS for considering VMI. It is a tough, but potentially very rewarding path. Post any VMI questions you may have as there are a number of active members on this board with recent graduates or current cadets at VMI who will give honest and helpful responses. Also feel free to PM me with any questions you are not comfortable posting publicly.
