So, with NAPS off the table, his chances of getting something are now at much higher odds. I'd put it at less than 1% now ....... oh well. We're putting down the deposit for his local choice today anyway. Still a tiny chance. but I think he's resigned himself to the inevitable result.

As an aside, the admissions team has been very transparent, direct, and incredibly courteous considering what I must think are an inordinate amount of inquiries. Bravo Zulu to them all.

May I ask what your specific question was to admissions for them to give you this response?

What this told me was that the Admissions team puts a designation on their recommendations for each individual candidate. For my son, it was direct admission only, no NAPS, no Foundation. I would guess that each candidate still in the mix has this sort of designation, whether they were recommended for direct only, or direct and prep school offers.

For my son? He now knows he is in the mix for direct admission only.

This is what I sent to them after getting my first response:

Excellent. Thank you so much for the response.

If a nomination is not found, does that mean he would still be in the running for a possible NAPS offer?

I appreciate your time and I know your team is putting in an extraordinary amount of effort to meet deadlines and parent/candidate demands!

Teamluke, I got the email address for the nomapps group from the live chat the other day from Lt. Schmerber. He suggested I reach out to them to find out more info on his LOA with no nom. As others have mentioned, it is not a one group show. Something along the lines of the Admissions board makes selections based on 3Q stuff, and forwards that over to other groups to do the next part, who then put together the class and make offers.

NOTE ...... I am not in the loop, I do not know specifically how things work, and I am only offering my direct experiences. Others here have a wealth of more experience than I do, and they may be able to provide more insight (like the BGOs on here).

I know they are swamped, so I am unsure as to how long it may take them to get back to you, especially right now. With everyone expecting an answer by 4/30 (and the outstanding LOA folks supposedly by tomorrow), it may just be best to continue to wait and see.

Does anyone know this late in the game if they will give the MOC the courtesy 72 hours to make a notification call?
