Regarding CORTRAMID. To start let me say my DDs unit hasn't advised yet so the "contact your unit" response isn't the purpose of this question. :)

If CORTRAMID-West's start date is 5/19, based on history, is that also the travel/report date for the Midn or should they expect to fly prior to that date?

My son traveled the day the training started.

I believe DS traveled the day before the start date. Has there been any talk of a ROM on site prior to the start of training? I doubt it, but it sounds like NSI is doing that so who knows.

Thanks.... doubt the ROM. I think the difference between NSI and CORTRAMID/Summer Training is the units know the MIDS have been vaccinated.

Correct on ROM. NSI and OCS I believe are the only summer training evolutions with a built in ROM, due to the fact that all Mids on cruise will be vaccinated.

Just remember, in case you’re planning some kind of rendezvous before your mid embarks, that it can all change in a snap. Semper Gumby!

Is vaccination going to be a requirement for summer cruises? If vaccination is still voluntary by DoD regulations I'll be curious to see how this is handled. DS is all commissioned now and off to BDOC in a few weeks. I think since he is vaccinated he gets to forgo the ROM requirement when he arrives in San Diego.

For CORTRAMID, vaccinations are required.

Think yes on required. One is avoiding the ROM, two is to avoid bringing unvaccinated into the "pods" on ships and subs. That's not an official reason but my opinion.

VAX is quite the incentive for summer trainings. Similar convos held for USNA PROTRAMID and other trainings. RE: PROTRAMID specifically...no vax? No go (I have a plebe). I read/heard that 99 pct of the brigade is VAX. And no one presently in iso due to Covid (per my Mids) AMAZING.

So excited. So thankful.

Question answered, travel date is 5/19

Hello. Our son is also attending CORTRAMID-West. He's been sent a flight for tomorrow, but no other details or schedules (or a packing list) from their unit. While we anticipate that they'll have to be sent some sort of instructions today, in the interest of time, any advice is appreciated.

Did you get the info?

Not yet @FtWorth dd Dad . Isn't that odd? Luckily there is at least one other from the unit on the same flight and they've been talking, so they'll figure it out together. Honestly no instruction on what to even do once the flight lands in San Diego tomorrow. Is there transport? Do they Uber? They found an old packing list online that they are using.

DS was instructed to report to the USO - Terminal 2 for transport. He also received his packing list a month ago. He is MO.

If you can get me your email, I'll forward the CORTAMID West packet that my DD received. You can always delete the email from this forum after you receive the email.

Thank you. He actually just received one from a friend at another school.

Thanks everyone for the terminal 2 info. That was news to us.

Thx @ChatterMom2, @FtWorth dd Dad & everyone for your responses. They are off! 7:15 flight from the east coast. They never did receive the packet from their own unit despite several of them asking for info. Surprising given the normally strong communication. Thanks to everyone for the offer to send us one.

Best of luck to all of your DD/DS - I hope it's a great month.
