First Board Results

Still nothing. Do you think they'll be out today? It would be great do know by today because it is the early decision/action deadline. I would assume the scholarship probably has some bearing on applications.
There should be no pause to apply early action - it is not binding and in some cases like at Purdue allows you to be considered for additional merit monies. Scholarship decisions really don't impact a decision to apply EA unless you're saying that you won't apply there unless you have a full scholarship. You'll also be notified earlier at schools that don't have rolling admission. Generally there are hundreds of scholarship winners who don't make it to commissioning and to serve. First year is a walk-away penalty free/ take a free year option, but once you start your sophomore year at school, you're on the hook for the whole thing. So plan accordingly. If you can't afford the school without a scholarship, just know you're carrying risk.

at my DS's school a 1/c (Senior) in NROTC was dropped and now owes back 3.5 years of tuition and fees - it's brutal. Proceed with caution.

Early Decision on the other hand is binding and puts all of the advantage to the university. Unless you can afford to pay for 100% of the room/ board/tuition/ fees and added costs for that school, don't do it, because you are committing before knowing what they will offer you in terms of financial aid, merit aid, scholarship, etc.

Good luck.

DS went through the process last year and is a MS1 now. I will say this is probably one of the more enjoyable parts. Its kinda of like watching the football game and you don't know the final outcome. You are so nervous cause you care so much. You have seen DS/DD give it their all.

Improve certain areas if you aren't selected the first board. As I mentioned before DS went to the 3rd as where most of the scholarships will be given. Waiting between the 2nd and 3rd board seemed like forever.

After they win their is still so much to do before their first day on campus. Enjoy this piece a little and enjoy the wait with some of the best people this country has to offer.
Congrats to your DS! My DS applied for AFROTC, thought he had a competitive application, however he did not make the 1st board. Status is 'reboarded'. The message on the application portal said there is nothing that can be done to improve his chances for the 2nd board. You advise to improve certain areas so I am curious - do they run another report on grades or anything else since first application? Thank you!

Anyone have any idea if results will come out today or not? Sounds like the programs have had them for a few days and wondering why they wouldn't be released? Any insight for those in the know is much appreciated!
