First Board Results

Good luck to all the applicants and their families. Roller coaster of emotions the next couple of weeks and possibility into March. Go for long walks and don't check the portal every 5 minutes or ask your DS/DD if they have.

I would say start checking the Friday after the board completes.

If the board is 18-22 October, then start checking 29 October.

When my DD went through the first board, that was the time she got her results via the portal. She was shocked it showed up so fast. Nothing ever happens that fast in the Army except when you owe the govt money. They’ll dock your pay lickety-split until they get their money back.

Again, would posters PLEASE identify in the subject line which service their posts concern? Each service (Army, Navy/Marine, Air Force) has its own ROTC. And while there are an abundance of smart people on this board, none that I'm aware of is a mind-reader.

And so we start the period of the year when the IT specialists at Cadet Command look like this as all of the anxious candidates refresh their computer on a minute by minute basis and overload the system! All kidding aside - very exciting times for all of the applicants. Best of luck to each of you!

Good luck 🍀 to you all! We were here last year for NROTC. Seemed like final notification wasn’t until April? My son didn’t earn a scholarship but he’s been killing it as a CP. He was part of the winning “Honor Squad” at NSO & was selected as a “Squad Leader” coming out of NSO. I’m not saying this to brag but to demonstrate that you can be successful in ROTC with or without the scholarship. Of course, he would have liked the have earned a scholarship last year, but it honestly wasn’t the end of the world. It’s probably driving his efforts this year! If you have a desire to serve & excel, you’ll do it no matter what!

I am so anxious lol. Just going to try my best to lot log into the rotc site for another 2 weeks.

Certainly help saving their heating bills because of the extra heat generated from the CPUs.

Selection as a squad leader, when a first semester freshman, is pretty impressive.

Thank you 😊! I think it was just for the one of the freshmen squads, but we were very proud, nonetheless, because he was identified as a leader right away, even though he was a Programmer. Showing up in shape to crush the PRT cannot be stressed enough. One of the older Mids told my DS that he couldn’t believe he didn’t win a National Scholarship 🤷🏻‍♀️. It just goes to show how competitive the process is. But, more importantly, don’t let not winning a 4-year scholarship crush your confidence & drive. It’s an amazing accomplishment to win a 4-year scholarship… but, if you don’t, you can still be a very strong Mid within your battalion!
